St. Dominic and the Rosary

The painting represents the institution of the Rosary prayer. From his mother's lap in Heaven, the Christ Child leans forward to present the rosary to St. Dominic. At the saint's knees is one of his attributes, a dog with a torch in its mouth. Surrounding the scene are fifteen clipei picturing the events in Jesus and Mary's life that are memorialized in the prayer.
